John Rafferty

John Rafferty is Vice President Finance for the Housing Authority of the City of New Haven (HANH). John joined HANH in August 2017 after over 30 years of experience in corporate controllership and audit functions.
As Vice President Finance for HANH, Mr. Rafferty is responsible for all financial functions of HANH and its two instrumentalities (The Glendower Group, Inc. & 360 Management Group, Co.). This includes month-end close, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, HUD reporting, and external audit coordination. HANH and its instrumentalities have overall budget authority of over $100 million.
Prior to working for HANH, Mr. Rafferty worked in controllership roles at Fusco Corporation, Chefs Warehouse, Inc, Competitive Technologies, Inc., United Rentals, Inc. and United Waste Systems, Inc. Chefs Warehouse, United Rentals and United Waste were among the fastest growing companies in the United States in their respective industries. In these roles, Mr. Rafferty was responsible for month-close, financial reporting, SEC reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and acquisition due diligence and integration as well as external audit coordination. Prior to that he worked in the audit department at Unilever United States, Inc. after beginning his career as an auditor for Arthur Andersen & Company.
Mr. Rafferty holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT and is recognized as a CPA in the State of Connecticut.
