About Ms. Ansari

Zarqa Ansari is the Housing Mobility Coordinator of The Glendower Group, the housing development instrumentality of the Housing Authority of the City of New Haven.  Ms. Ansari started in September of 2025.

As a Housing Mobility Coordinator, Ms. Ansari supports families and individuals participating in the Housing Choice Voucher Program by helping them access stable, affordable housing opportunities across a range of communities. She is responsible for successfully housing Section 8 voucher holders through the Expanded Choice Program. This includes conducting housing searches in both high-opportunity and non-high-opportunity areas, assisting clients with rental applications, helping secure security deposit support, and connecting participants with available resources to remove barriers and support successful housing placements.

Prior to working for The Glendower Group, Ms. Ansari worked as an Administrative Assistant and later as a Program Manager with the Livable City Initiative for seven years, where she was deeply involved in housing code enforcement, including coordinating Section 8 inspections for the Housing Authority of New Haven. She then transitioned to a Project Manager position at the New Haven Health Department, helping manage a federally funded HUD grant supporting lead abatement projects throughout the City of New Haven.

Ms. Ansari is a commissioned Notary Public in the State of Connecticut.
